The earlier harvest onion sets add greater value to the end-product compared with seed onions and are attracting a lot of interest from processors, growers, packers, exporters, direct suppliers and supermarkets. All these plants have the benefit of being good quality varieties that are perfect for the early market.
We grow onion sets at various places in the Netherlands as well as in Russia in collaboration with our partner, Lukamore LLC. At Broer B.V. we store and deliver our onion sets under very closely-controlled, variety-specific conditions.
Broer B.V. is the sole producer of onion sets with the Bejo Seeds/De Groot en Slot quality label, ‘Quality inside’. Plants with this label offer the unique genetic traits of Rijnsburger, Stuttgarter and Spaans as first-year onion sets.
Packaging
For the professional we supply our onion sets in 5, 10, 20 and 25 kg packs and in 1000 kg big bags.
For the amateur market and the semi-professional customer we can supply onion sets in packs of various weights up to 1000 g.
