Troy at Schouwen-Duiveland (The Netherlands)

The crop is starting to recover quickly after the cold winter. Plants that were completely or partially frozen are recovering and onions are even appearing that were still dormant shortly after the planting period and didn’t start developing immediately. Bejo representative Rob van den Bos is satisfied with the condition of Troy at this moment.
‘There is quite a high risk of the bulb and already developed root zone freezing in a winter like this with alternating periods of frost and thaw. Troy seems to be a resilient variety that holds its own even under conditions like these!’
