Broer sees growing demand for one-year-old onion sets

The first year onion sets are graded into three sizes, says director Siem Beers. ‘The demand for first year onion sets is rising thanks to the good prices for table onions. Growers of onion sets hope to benefit in the early summer from a lack of seed onions. We supply first year onion sets until mid-April. About ninety percent of our production goes to more than forty mainly European counties.’
